Yes, I was an official realtor before as well, but I FINALLY passed the rest of my real estate courses that I needed to take in order to have my license extended to the full 4 years instead of the year and a half. I'm representing some friends of mine in a transaction which put the fire under my feet to just get these classes over with. ( I love independent study - I've had these classes since January) I finished my finals in real estate practice which was pretty easy considering I had been through 4 transactions already - 2 of which completely closed. Real estate appraisal was my other course - and let me tell you that class was a pain! I love real estate but I would not want to be an appraiser! ( I previously thought it would be an interesting career until taking my real estate classes) I understand how it works, but there are so many different approaches to HOW you can calculate the value of a home and which is the BEST (Is it a rental? does it need the income approach? If so, what will its potential gross income be? what about the cost approach? What about the short appraisal, long appraisal, which is the most detailed appraisal???? what about the value approach?????????!!!!!!!) But the important thing is that I PASSED PASSED PASSED! Now I can cross that off my list that has been there for oh say..... a year and a half. Phew! Anyone want to buy a house now? :-)

Congrats, Melanie! You have been super busy! I'm glad I was able to help fuel the fire! You have been a great help to us--we appreciate everything you are doing! Now let's get that house!
yay! congratulations! everyone is always impressed when I tell them you are a real estate agent. :)
Good job Melanie! You are very disciplined to do an independent study course, because if it were me the books would still be in plastic wrap a year later!!
